Dr. Edoardo Celeste Publishes New Book on Post-Brexit Digital Sovereignty

We are delighted to announce that Dr. Edoardo Celeste, Associate Professor in Law, Technology & Innovation at DCU and affiliated staff of the DCU Brexit Institute has published a book titled ‘Data Protection and Digital Sovereignty Post-Brexit‘ (Hart 2023) edited with Róisín Á. Costello, Edina Harbinja and Napoleon Xanthoulis.

The book analyses the latest legal and policy developments in the context of Post-Brexit tensions between the UK and EU concerning data protection laws. It focuses not only on data protection but also exploring its intersection with other related regulatory areas, such as artificial intelligence and online safety.
In this publication, renowned international experts contextualise current regulatory trends and policy proposals to understand whether a new UK model in the field of digital regulation is emerging and to what extent this will exacerbate existing tensions between the UK and the EU.
DCU’s Law Research Centre will host an event on the 14th of March to mark the launch of the book and discuss the latest news on AI regulation in the EU, Ireland and the UK. Read more here.
