The Future of UK and EU Migration Law after Brexit

On Thursday 9th November 2023, the DCU Brexit Institute hosted an online event on “The future of UK and EU migration law after Brexit”. The event took place from 4pm to 5.30pm (Irish Time).

Against a backdrop of migration reform in the EU, the UK government’s Supreme Court appeal regarding its UK-Rwanda relocation agreement, and a trend towards offshoring asylum claims, this event will be an excellent opportunity to take stock of the latest developments in these areas.

Introductory remarks: Niall Moran, Deputy Director of the Brexit Institute

Keynote speaker:  Sir Simon Hughes, Former UK Minister of Justice

Chair: David Davin-Power, former RTÉ Political Correspondent

Speakers:

  • Matilde Ventrella, Senior Lecturer in Law, Liverpool John Moores University
  • Hilkka Becker, Chairperson of the International Protection Appeals Tribunal
  • Janine Silga, Assistant Professor in European Union Law, DCU
